In Thursday’s Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito, we take a look at top toy name Hasbro as shares surge more than 4.5%.
The price action in the markets has been nothing short of frosty for most of December, but it looks like there’s still some magic left.
The major indexes gapped up at the open with the Nasdaq jumping over 2.5%. Meanwhile the S&P 500 gained more than 1.8% during Thursday’s session as Wall Street reacted to an increase in jobless claims.
With markets on the rise, we saw an uptick in bullish options flow hitting the tape in some unusual places like our old friend Hasbro.

Now, you would think December is when toymakers make hay, but in reality January is often one of their strongest months for sales…
And at least one deep-pocketed trader is adding HAS calls to their shopping list, loading up on more than 1,000 contracts of the Jan. 20, 2023 expiration, $60 strike calls for over $200,000 in premium!
Of course that’s not the only name seeing outsized options flow Thursday…
- DocuSign Inc. (Nasadaq: DOCU): Jan. 20, 2023, $53 CALL.
- Tesla Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA): Dec. 30, $120 PUT.
- Hasbro Inc. (Nasdaq: HAS): Jan. 20, 2023, $60 CALL.
- Mattel Inc. (Nasdaq: MAT): Feb. 17, 2023, $18 CALL.
